Most things work out

How true is that! So many things happen to us in a life time. Births, deaths, happy events, sad events, gains, losses, celebrations, disappointments, and a few tragedies. When we really stop and think about it, most things work out. As we cruise along usually feeling okay or even better and something happens like a pandemic, a misfortune of one of our family members or a sudden illness etc. , we usually switch from feel good to feel bad or really bad. We do this before we really know the outcome and find ourselves sad, angry, scared, lonely, frustrated or depressed. And then, things work out! Those negative emotions have a positive purpose but often we jump into them too quickly, out of habit and use up all kinds of energy that might have had a better purpose. So, what do we do then? Well, switch to neutral! Neutral can be good. It’s like saying “I’ll give it some time” or “I have faith” or simply “we’ll see” . Most of the time, things just work out.  I remember some of the words to an old song my father used to sing, its called. whispering Hope-oh how welcome thy voice-making my heart in its sorrow rejoice. WHEN LOVE RELATIONSHIPS DON’T WORK

SO OFTEN, THE MOST TRAUMATIC EVENTS IN A PERSON’S LIFE DEAL WITH RELATIONSHIPS. LETS TALK ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE OF HAVING A BROKEN HEART. IT IS OUR INSTINCT AS HUMANS TO FIND A MATE. WE ARE DRAWN TO LOVE BY A GREAT FORCE THAT IS SO POWERFUL, IT CAN TAKE US TO GREAT EXTREMES OF PLEASURE AND PAIN. THE EUPHORIA OF A FIRST LOVE ESPECIALLY IS SO INTOXICATING THAT WE FAIL TO SEE AND FEEL THE MORE BASIC REALITIES OF WHO THAT PERSON TRULY IS. THE MATING RITUALS CAN OVER-POWER THE MOST LOGICAL PARTS OF US. THIS MAY GO ON FOR MONTHS OR EVEN YEARS. AS SOME NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF OUR DESIRED LOVE INTEREST BEGINS TO COME INTO FOCUS, THEY ARE OFTEN IGNORED. THEN , WHAT A SHOCK WHEN WE WAKE UP ONE DAY AND THE PERSON OF OUR WILDEST DESIRES DECIDES TO BREAK THE BUBBLE AND END THE STATE OF PARADISE. HOW COULD THAT HAPPEN! WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO END SOMETHING SO PRECIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL!   THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO LOOK AT THIS, SO MANY PERSPECTIVES BESIDES THE ONE THAT MAKES US FEEL SMALL, LESS THEN WHO WE REALLY ARE, HUMILIATED , HURT AND ANGRY DEEP TO THE CORE.  I REMEMBER IT WELL AND I LEARNED A LOT FROM IT. SO, HERE ARE SOME PERSPECTIVES THAT CAN BE USEFUL AND CUT SHORT THE TIME OF GRIEVING.    1-WE WERE MEANT TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE WITH THAT PERSON, BUT NOT A LONG ONE. 2-EVERY RELATIONSHIP-GOOD OR BAD IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE. 3- IF YOU WERE MEANT TO STAY TOGETHER IT WOULD HAPPEN. THE UNIVERSE FINDS A WAY. 4-STAYING IN A RELATIONSHIP THAT IS NOT MEANT TO BE LONG TERM CAN KEEP US UNAWARE OF WHO WE SHOULD BE WITH. 5-THE EXPERIENCE ITSELF CAN BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GROW. PERHAPS THAT PERSON SPARKED IN YOU THE DESIRE TO BE BETTER, THEN THEIR JOB IS DONE. 6-THAT HOLLOW PLACE WHICH NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO FILL, DOES FILL UP IN TIME, ESPECIALLY IF WE DECIDE WE WANT IT TO. 7-IF WE ARE AGE 25-WE MIGHT LIVE ANOTHER 60-70 YEARS. THATS A LOT OF TIME TO FIND LOVE. 8-THIS EXPERIENCE WHICH SOME DESCRIBE AS THE WORST IN THEIR LIVES SOMETIMES LEADS TO GREAT SPIRITUAL AWARENESS. 9-ITS TIME TO HEAL (NOT SELF DESTRUCT)   SO TO SPEED UP HEALING , LOOK BRAVELY AT THE EMOTIONS AND EXPRESS THEM IN A SAFE PLACE. IF YOU DON’T HIDE FROM THE FEELINGS,  DRINK OR DRUG THEM AWAY YOU CAN MOVE THROUGH THEM FASTER AND GET TO THE OTHER SIDE. 10-BE GENTLE AND KIND TO YOURSELF IN EVERY WAY. IF A VOICE IN YOU SAYS “I’M NOT GOOD ENOUGH ” REMEMBER IT IS JUST ONE VOICE. YOU HAVE MANY. 11- THE BEST RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOT ALWAYS THE MOST INTENSE ONES. THERE IS A LOT TO SAY ABOUT PEACE.  12-IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE SUPER SENSITIVE (SEE OLDER POST ON THAT SUBJECT ) THIS IS SURELY AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN TO USE IT AND BE YOUR OWN DIRECTOR. 13-THE CONFIDENCE WE LEARN FROM A POWERFUL LOVE MATE IS A NICE ADDITION TO OUR PROGRAMMING. HOWEVER, THE CONFIDENCE WE LEARN FROM OURSELVES IS FAR MORE POWERFUL AND FULFILLING. 14-WHEN YOU GET OLDER AND LOOK BACK-YOU WILL BE HAPPY THAT IT HAPPENED AS IT DID-BELIEVE IT!  AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST , I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT WHEN I WAS EXPERIENCING THE PAIN OF RELATIONSHIPS , A GOOD HYPNOSIS SESSION WOULD HAVE REALLY HELPED. OF COURSE THAT IS MY WAY. SOME PEOPLE EXERCISE , LOOK UP OLD FRIENDS, GET CREATIVE AND , OR SEE A PROFESSIONAL OF THEIR CHOICE.  WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE, BLESS YOU WITH A HEART THAT UNDERSTANDS. WANDA

FEELINGS

Hello Again and welcome. As humans we all experience boredom, anger, guilt, sadness, loneliness, inadequacy, stress, frustration, fear and depression. We often want to push these feelings away and deny or ignore them and often, they just come back even more fiercely. if we stop and listen to them, we soon understand that they are giving us an important message and they won’t leave us alone until we get it. Each feeling has a positive purpose -Boredom wants us to find a new challenge. -Anger is very protective and wants the experience of people and self to be fair. -Guilt can really put us in our place by telling us to treat others or ourselves fairly. -Sadness wants whatever is valuable to stay- friends, family, home, pets etc. -lonely really wants relationships, good and valuable ones. -Inadequacy wants to hear the truth,” I am good enough, I always was good enough and always will be”. -Stress says stop and re-think what you are doing  and how you are doing it. It wants you to manage things properly and find a balance. -Frustration says slow down, re-think and your needs will be met and satisfied. -Fear wants you to run or fight if it believes a situation to be dangerous. In its milder form it says back off and be really careful. -Depression says to really slow down. Its better to sleep then to short circuit. It is very protective and would rather feel you rested then upset.  If we ignore our feelings long enough we can develop addictions to escape dealing with them. But that relief is fleeting and destructive. If we listen, communicate and negotiate with our feelings, they become satisfied and calm down. Hypnotherapy can teach people how to communicate more effectively to achieve the balance we all deserve to have. I hope this is helpful to all of you who read this. Thank you for your time. Wanda

THE CARE-GIVER

BLESS THE CARE-GIVER ! YOU KNOW, THE ONES YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON TO HELP OUT, LEND A HAND, MAKE YOU SOUP IF YOU FEEL ILL, LISTEN TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE DOWN AND MUCH MORE. CARE-GIVERS USUALLY LIKE THEMSELVES AND WITH GOOD REASON. IT FEELS GOOD TO BE NEEDED AND PLAY THE PART OF  HELPING OUT . THEY ARE FOUND IN THE HEALING PLACES LIKE CHURCHES, HOSPITALS, AMBULANCES, SENIOR HOMES, ETC. SOMETIMES THEY ARE A NEIGHBOR, AN AQUANTANCE, AN AUNT, BROTHER OR SON OR A STRANGER IN A GROCERY STORE. WHEREVER THEY ARE, THEY ARE SURELY GUIDED BY THE GLOWING POWERS OF THE LIGHT. THEY ALSO NEED TO BE PROTECTED BY THESE POWERS OR THEY TEND TO BE USED AND OR ABUSED. SOMETIMES THE CARE-GIVERS ARE IN MY HYPNOSIS CHAIR AND LOVELY TO WORK WITH -FULL OF GOODNESS AND KINDNESS. HOWEVER, THEY ARE OFTEN BURNT OUT. CARE-GIVERS CAN GO FOR YEARS , SO BUSY HELPING OTHERS THAT THEY REALLY DO FORGET ABOUT THEMSELVES. THEY MIGHT BE A MASSAGE THERAPIST WHO NEVER GETS A MASSAGE, A HYPNOTHERAPIST WHO NEVER GETS A SESSION, A DAUGHTER WHO NEVER TAKES A BREAK FROM LOOKING AFTER HER PARENT, A DEDICATED DOCTOR WHO NEVER RESTS ENOUGH, A PERSON WHO ALWAYS PRAYS FOR OTHERS BUT NEVER THEMSELVES AND ON AND ON. THESE PEOPLE NEED GOOD HEALTH TO CARRY ON THEIR GOOD WORK AND THAT MEANS HEALTHY FOOD, REST, EXERCISE, FRIENDS AND FUN, NATURE ETC. WHATEVER NOURISHES THEIR SOUL THAT WILL ENHANCE THE ABILITY TO CARE FOR OTHERS. HAVING HEALTHY BOUNDERIES IS VITAL TO STAY IN THE LIGHT,  KEEP THE NEGATIVE OUT AND STAY STRONG. WHAT IS SELF HYPNOSIS ?

FOR EXAMPLE-IF A PERSON HAS A FEAR OR PHOBIA, THE FUTURE STORY WOULD BE TO SEE AND FEEL THEMSELVES SAFE, COMFORTABLE, STRONG AND IN CONTROL EVEN IN THE PRESENCE OF WHAT NORMALLY USED TO MAKE THEM TERRIFIED. AS THE WORK PROGRESSES WITH ME, USING AGE REGRESSION, FORGIVENESS THERAPY, PARTS WORK, NLP AND OTHER TECHNIQUES AND THE CLIENT BECOMES MORE AND MORE CONFIDENT, A SCRIPT IS DEVELOPED WHICH IS A SHORTER VERSION OF THEIR STORY. HOW SAFE IS HYPNOTHERAPY ?

GREETINGS, AS THE YEARS GO BY AND I FIND MYSELF  BUSY WITH THE ART AND SCIENCE OF HYPNOSIS, AFTER 17 YEARS , I STILL HEAR PEOPLE SAY “I’M AFRAID OF IT”. WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT HYPNOSIS WAS A STATE OF HEIGHTENED AWARENESS  AND NOT A STATE OF UNCONSCIOUSNESS , WELL, HE WAS SURPRISED.  MOVIES AND STAGE SHOWS HAVE PLAYED A HUGE PART OF PEOPLE’S MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE HYPNOTIC STATE. OLD MOVIES OFTEN PORTRAY PEOPLE IN A ZOMBIE-LIKE STATE, MANIPULATED INTO DOING BAD THINGS AGAINST THEIR WILL. THE TRUTH IS THIS.  TO CONTROL MINDS, DRUGS, SLEEP AND OR FOOD DEPRIVATION IS REQUIRED. HYPNOSIS ITSELF IS AN AWAKE AND AWARE STATE IN WHICH WE ARE IN FULL CONTROL. WHAT ABOUT STAGE SHOWS ? WELL, PEOPLE CAN ACT PRETTY SILLY ON STAGE IF THEY WANT TO. YES, THEY DO AGREE TO BE SILLY AND ENTERTAINING. HYPNOTHERAPY IS NOT A STAGE SHOW! WOW! 2017, A NEW BEGINNING. ITS ALWAYS WISE TO START FRESH AND WHAT A PERFECT TIME TO DO IT. THERE ARE ALWAYS OBSTICLES LIKE THE COLD WEATHER, THE BUDGET, THE FAMILY DISPUTES, THE CRISIS SITUATIONS, THE FRIENDS WHO ARE LOST OR ILL, OUR OWN HEALTH ISSUES AND ON AND ON. LETS FACE IT, LIFE ON PLANET EARTH AND BEING HUMAN IS A HUGE CHALLENGE BUT WE WOULD NOT BE HERE IF WE WERE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO LIVE IT. SO, WHY NOT THROW ALL OF THOSE ISSUES IN A BIG OLD BAG, TIE UP THE TOP AND TOSS IT. HEY, THAT FEELS GOOD. LETS START AGAIN. THE COLD WEATHER EASES UP-TOSS THAT FACT INTO A NEW BAG. THE BUDGET MAY NEED SOME CARE AND ATTENTION, TOSS THAT IN. FAMILY ISSUES ARE OFTEN RESOLVED WITH A LITTLE LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING, TOSS THAT IN. Ethical prices for Hypnosis sessions

Greetings from Regina Saskatchewan. I have been to many Hypnosis conferences over the years and the conversation about prices for sessions and also for Hypnosis training often comes up. There is a huge difference across North America in prices which range from very low to sky high and in between. Now, it would make sense that a more experienced practitioner would charge more. After all, it takes a lot of money for years of training  as well as dedication. Experience also means confidence and ability. I am personally willing to pay more but not sky high for all of that when I seek out a therapist or practitioner of any kind. Location is also a factor of  course  and one would expect to pay more in Montreal and in a much smaller city. It doesn’t always work that way! I have had very poor sessions for a high price and very amazing ones for a low price. There is a comment that I have often heard at conferences and here it is. “You must charge high because if you do, people will think your service is more valuable”.  I just don’t care much for that way of thinking. I do understand that as a profession, it is not a good idea to under-value what we do because we are an important service in our community. I also know that are some people out there that truly believe that if they pay a lot more, the service is always more valuable. I had a man call me about my stop smoking program, which is a reasonable price and he told me that he also talked to someone who charged twice that amount. I knew by his tone and his comments that he would go for the more expensive program -regardless of the experience of the Hypnotist or the quality of the program. I must admit that I was happy to not have him as a client. I really like it when people check me out and ask a lot of questions, which I am more then happy to answer. The average person in my community cannot afford sky high prices. I enjoy people in my chair from all walks of life and every kind of profession as well as students and children. People living on pensions and social assistance deserve a lower rate. We all deserve the help we need as humans on this planet. As far as Hypnosis training is concerned, I would like to see a set rate right across the country that is reasonable and fair. Right now, it ranges from one extreme to another. So, do the homework, the research, the inquiry and find out what you need to make a wise decision.  Thank you kindly for reading this, Wanda

HUMAN CONNECTION

HELLO AND WARM GREETINGS! HAVING JUST ATTENDED A FAMILY REUNION THIS SUMMER, IT REALLY MADE ME THINK A LOT MORE ABOUT THE WAY HUMANS CONNECT. AS I WAS HANGING OUT WITH COUSINS, THE KIDS OF COUSINS AND EVEN THEIR KIDS (SOME OF WHOM I HAD NEVER MET AND OTHERS NOT SEEN FOR 35 YEARS), I WOULD CATCH AN IMAGE OF AN ANCESTOR OR GRANDPARENT IN SOME OF THEIR FACES. ONE COUSIN IN PARTICULAR WALKED AND TALKED AND LOOKED ALOT LIKE MY GRANDFATHER. THIS TRIGGERED SOME WARM AND WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF A MAN WHO WAS KIND AND GENTLE AND HONEST. THEN I HEARD ANOTHER COUSIN TALKING ABOUT HER GRANDMOTHER AND THE COLOR OF HER FURNATURE, THE GERANIUMS IN HER WINDOWS AND HER WHITE CAT AND I HEARD MYSELF THINKING, THAT IS MY GRANDMOTHER TOO. ONCE AGAIN WARM MEMORIES WERE TRIGGERED OF A HOME THAT WAS WARM AND WELCOMING AND CREATIVE AND OF A WOMAN WHO MADE IT SO SPECIAL. FAMILY REUNIONS ARE WONDERFUL OPORTUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE CONNECTION AND STORY TELLING. WITH REAL PERSON TO PERSON CONNECTION WE CAN TRULY APPRECIATE A STORY WITH ALL OF OUR SENSES. WATCHING FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND BODY MOVEMENT, HEARING AND FEELING THE EMOTIONS EXPRESSED THROUGH THE VOICE AND LAUGHTER OR SADNESS IN THE EYES ETC. I EVEN THOUGHT I COULD SMELL MY GRANDFATHER’S COWBOY COFFEE THAT HE USED TO BOIL ON THE WOOD STOVE. I TOLD THE STORY OF LIVING WITH OUR GRANDPARENTS FOR ONE WINTER. THE ICE COLD BEDROOM AND LAYERS OF FEATHER QUILTS, THE SOFT FOOTSTEPS OF MY GRANDMOTHER IN THE HALLWAY EACH MORNING AS SHE SWEETLY WHISPERED- GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE. THERE WERE ALWAYS SOUNDS OF TRAINS IN THE DISTANCE AND FEELINGS OF PEACE AND SAFETY. ALL OF OUR STORIES AFFECTED EACH OTHER EMOTIONALLY (SUBCONSCIOUSLY) AND GAVE US THE FEELING OF BEING CONNECTED. IN OUR SOCIETY TODAY , MANY OF US FEEL VERY DISCONNECTED AND THIS CAUSES ISOLATION, DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY. PERSON TO PERSON CONTACT HAS BEEN FADING MORE AS PEOPLE RELY ON THE INTERNET TO CONNECT.
